The Cuse Conscious Community is a group of involved local citizens who believe in the future of Central New York, and the importance of advancing nonpartisan solutions to our common concerns. Our organization seeks to bring together our key stakeholders needed to address critical community needs, and to work with them to raise local awareness and to design and implement an action plan.
Our first Cuse Conscious Community initiative is a social action campaign that champions veterans and their families, who are transitioning into careers as today’s farmers. Veterans can create healthy new lives for themselves and their families, and delicious food security for their Central New York neighbors, and ultimately showcase how communities across America can do the same.
The mission of Veterans Family Farms is to train veterans and family members in agricultural systems, technologies, and business operations for a fulfilling and sustainable lifestyle. Our program will connect some of the more than 800,000 New York State veterans to necessary resources, such as further training opportunities, veteran-related grant opportunities, business development classes, and a strong, welcoming CNY community, while providing access to clean, fresh, local food for all.
Veterans often encounter unique obstacles when considering entering into farming. We want to help.
It is said in the Veteran community that Veteran love is the best medicine and we couldn't agree more. Veterans Family Farms offers the camaraderie that many are lacking after getting out of the service. Through Veterans Family Farms, healing happens, and lasting bonds form, and our brothers and sisters the community they chose to serve and protect.
Drake and Debbie Gaetano, Leslie Mueller and the friends of Headlines are committed to the mission of the Cuse Conscious Community and ask if you wish to help in any way to please reach out to us.
